A practical test: “Would I be doing this even if AI did not exist?”

If the answer is yes ( you make content clearer, add valuable data, answer real questions) then it is ethical.

  • Label AI-generated content where relevant
  • Indicate sources and data origin

Accuracy:

  • Publish only verifiable information
  • Update content when facts change
  • Correct errors proactively

  • Follow GDPR and other regulations

The long-term consequences

Manipulative GEO practices have consequences:

  • Reputational damage: When manipulation is discovered, the damage is greater than the gain
  • AI penalties: As Google punishes spam, AI systems will learn to detect manipulation
  • Candidate mistrust: Candidates who feel misled become critics
